Long Black Veil 墓場まで持っていく秘密

ほとんど意味不明の歌ばかりの　Music From Big Pink の中で　この　Long Black Veil だけは歌詞を読んですぐ内容がわかりました。

このアルバムの中で　wheels On fire や　I Shall Be released といったディランの歌を除くと唯一のカヴァー曲であったからかもしれません。

そういうことで、最初　Music From Big Pink　では The Weight などよりよく聴いていました。


この歌は一言でいうと”不倫”という奴です。

今年も日本では芸能人やら政治家（？）とかの不倫騒動というのが結構あり、彼らはなぜかわかりませんが、謝罪会見を開きました。

この歌の主人公は、都々逸にある「人の女房と枯れ木の枝は、登りつめたら命懸け」というやつで、結果「墓場まで秘密を持っていく」ということになります。
